Yeah, I have to concur with you--root beer is vile, nasty stuff. I cannot fathom why so many countrymen of mine profess to love it (and/or its more-generic, major-label iteration, Dr. Pepper). I mean, there is no better way to ruin a nice glass of vanilla ice cream than by pouring root beer all over it--and I've been roundly criticized as being un-American by using Coke or Pepsi for my "root beer" floats. Bummer about the IHOP--then again, I think the most international thing they manage to accomplish is Belgian waffles and Latin American-themed omelettes. Not to say that I don't love the place, but still...it's kind of like American "World Champions" in the NFL and NBA... T'n'A Yo, geezah!
